China Bears, an indie rock band from London, England, has released their new song Statue Still on August 14th with Fierce Panda Records!
China Bears is a four-member band with twin brothers Ivan and Frazer, plus James and Dean. They’ve played with artists like Declan McKenna, Gengahr, The Districts, and To Kill A King.
As someone who remembers Fierce Panda for bands like Death Cab For Cutie, The Maccabees, and The Walkmen, I was excited to hear a band that feels just as special. China Bears is the kind of band I can picture playing in a small, cozy venue or in front of a huge festival crowd. I’m definitely going to check out more of their songs.
“‘Statue Still’ is about the early stages of loss and healing,” says Ivan. “For me, it’s like when you watch a great movie at the cinema. When it’s over, you have to leave, but you wish you could stay in that world a bit longer. You know it’s done, but you weren’t ready for it to end, so you feel stuck in between. But you can’t stay forever—it’s better to walk out on your own than have someone come and make you leave.”
