Future House Music: 10 Years of Amazing Music
Future House Music (FHM), an independent electronic music label, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special documentary on YouTube. The film tells the story of how FHM grew from a simple Facebook fan page in 2014 to a global name in house music.
How It All Started
In 2014, FHM began as a Facebook page for fans of future house music. By 2015, it became a record label, releasing its first single by Jonas Aden. Over time, the label worked with big artists like Brooks, Wankelmut, Skytech, Tobtok, Sikdope, and Sevenn, creating a strong and creative music community.
Big Achievements
Here are some of FHM’s biggest moments:
- 2016: Opened an office in Rotterdam and built a team.
- 2017: Hosted a festival stage for the first time.
- 2018: Released its first viral song, “Brass” by Dirty Rush & Gregor Es.
- 2019: Hit 1 million YouTube subscribers.
- 2020: Started the Future House Music Awards.
- 2021: Launched its own merchandise store.
- 2022: Ranked 6th among DJs’ favorite record labels.
- 2023: Hosted music showcases in countries like Japan, USA, and Germany.
Challenges Along the Way
FHM faced challenges, like copyright issues on YouTube and the effects of COVID-19. “It was a tough journey,” said co-founder Aart van den Dool. But these challenges made FHM stronger and more focused on its mission of supporting artists and connecting fans.
Celebrating 10 Years
The documentary, first shown at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), shares FHM’s story through interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and stories from the founders. “This isn’t just a celebration,” said co-founder Gino van Eijk. “It shows what’s possible when people work together.”
Looking Ahead
FHM is still focused on helping new artists and growing its community of house music fans. They plan to keep hosting events worldwide and connecting with fans on platforms like Discord and YouTube.
