Martin Guitar and Billy Strings Launch Two New Signature Guitars at 2025 NAMM Show

Martin Guitar is excited to introduce two new signature guitars at the 2025 NAMM Show: the D-28 Billy Strings and the D-X2E Billy Strings.

These guitars are inspired by GRAMMY-winning artist Billy Strings, blending Martin’s top-quality craftsmanship with Billy’s unique bluegrass style and energy. They’re designed to capture his sound and playing style, offering something special for fans and musicians.

Billy says, “When I think of the word ‘guitar,’ I think of a Martin D-28. It’s as American as baseball and has the sound bluegrass players have loved forever. You just have to have one.”

D-28 Billy Strings

This guitar is inspired by Billy’s favorite 1940 D-28 but has some updates for modern play.

• Special Features: A 25″ scale length makes it easier to play fast notes and bend strings. The neck is shaped for comfort and speed.
• Materials: Solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, a spruce top for a deep, rich sound.
• Design Details: Vintage-style trim, antique white binding, and abalone inlays add classic charm.

It’s the perfect mix of old-school craftsmanship and modern playability, just like Billy’s music style.

D-X2E Billy Strings

This version is more affordable but still packed with great features.

• Playability: The same 25″ scale length and neck width as the D-28 make it easy to play.
• Materials: Durable HPL (high-pressure laminate) back and sides with a solid spruce top create a loud, rich tone.
• Extras: Built-in electronics, a tuner, and a hemp softshell case make it stage-ready.

Billy says, “It’s important for people to have access to a great guitar without spending too much. This guitar is perfect for learning and playing bluegrass.”
